Appear at the First Ever Cleveland Women’s Show
(Cleveland, Ohio) With more than 400 exhibitors, there is something for every female needing a day to call her own at the First Ever Cleveland Women’s Show, sponsored by The Plain Dealer and Marc’s. The show debuts at the I-X Center September 12-14, 2008.
The show that features a bit of everything—shopping, travel, home décor, fashion and accessories, health screenings and information, cooking programs, celebrity appearances, and…..dancing! That’s right, dancing!
Actor Cristián de la Fuente, who performed with professional ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke last season on the popular ABC reality series “Dancing with the Stars” will dance and sign autographs at the Cleveland Women’s Show on Saturday, September 13.
On “Dancing with the Stars,” de la Fuente competed against celebrities that included magician Penn Gillette, actors Steve Guttenberg, Priscilla Presley and Marlee Matlin, R&B singer Mario and former tennis star Monica Seles. His Latino blood definitely moved through his body as he and his partner, Cheryl Burke came in second place, despite the dance injury he suffered to his arm.
Cristián de la Fuente’s work continues to show his versatility as both a comedic and dramatic actor. He stars as ‘Rafael Ramirez’, in the USA Network series, “IN PLAIN SIGHT.” He is a Dominican shortstop that plays for the New Mexico Isotopes that gets called to play for the Marlins. ‘Ramirez’ is ‘Mary Shannon’s’ boyfriend played by Mary McCormack. She is a U.S. Marshal working in the highly secretive branch of the witness protection program who relocates Federal Witnesses.
Fox TV Studios shot two pilots with Cristián’s production company, EFE3, in Chile. The pilots “Family Trust” and “Family Dance Off” were filmed in English and Spanish. They are currently developing other projects.
Cristián stared in Univision’s “Como Ama Una Mujer” (How a Women Loves), the five-hour musical, drama, mini-series executive produced by Jennifer Lopez. In the sixth season of ABC’s hit show “Dancing with the Stars,” de la Fuente lit up the dance floor with his partner Cheryl Burke finishing in the top three. He had a recurring role on Lifetime’s “Side Order of Life.” He guested on USA’S/”PSYCH,” and had a recurring role on ABC’S “Ugly Betty.” Cristián recurred as ‘Aaron,’ boyfriend to ‘Kyle Lendo’ portrayed by Sean Maguire on CBS TV’S “The Class.”
Cristián de la Fuente is the first male to grace the cover of Cosmopolitan En Espanol, November 2006 issue. He was named 50 most beautiful by People Magazine En Espanol four times and in 1999 in People Magazine USA.
Cristián’s first film, “Driven” in which he co-starred opposite Sylvester Stalone opened to number one at the box office. He also starred opposite John Travolta and Samuel Jackson in the hit movie “Basic” and “Vampiros Los Muertos” opposite Jon Bon Jovi. More recent films include “Once Upon a Wedding” opposite Esai Morales and “Suenos” opposite John Leguizamo.
He was a series regular on CBS’S “Family Law,” NBC’S “Gated Community” and “Bad Girls Guide,” on UPN. He had recurring roles on: UPN’S “One on One,” CBS’S “CSI: Miami,” and NBC’S ‘Hidden Hills.” On ABC he guest starred as Kelly Ripa’s love interest on “Hope and Faith.” He played an AFI agent on “Threat Matrix” and co-starred opposite Kim Delaney in the MOW ‘Infidelity.” He was a series lead on the Episodic “Reyes Y Rey” for Sony/Telemundo.
He executive produced and starred in the foreign film ‘El Nominado” which was chosen as one of the films to be showcased at the New York Latin Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Miami and San Diego Latin Film Festivals. He was names as one of the top ten actors to watch.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Cristiăn is an adventurous spirit and an avid sportsman. He enjoys tennis, boxing, skiing, golfing, and weight training. Cristiăn is a First Lieutenant in the Chilean Air Force Reserve and a member of “Halcones,” the High Aerobatics team.
Cristián resides in LA with his wife Angelica Castro and their daughter.
Mothers and daughters will be treated on Sunday to a guest appearance by actor Jason Earles, who places Hannah Montana’s brother on the “Hannah Montana Show” (Disney Channel). Earles is known to many as big brother Jackson on the popular tween comedy Hannah Montana. Having actually grown up in the state of Montana, Earles eventually attended Rocky Mountain College, which he graduated from in 2000. He then appeared in American Pie Presents: Band Camp before landing the role on Hannah Montana that would make him a familiar face in living rooms all over America.
Shelley Kincaid, aka “The Garage Sale Lady” is host of TV’s wildly popular “Trash to Treasures” and makes regular appearances on HGTV, DIYnetwork, Discovery, and major networks. Not only will she show Clevelanders how to tripe their income when having a garage sale, she’ll show them how to decorate their home for pennies on the dollar with other people’s throw-a-ways and share her tips and tricks of the trade. Shelley is the author of “Garage Decorator’s Bible,” which was chosen as the New York Design Center’s Decorating Book of Choice.
The Doctor of Closetology, Jackie Walker, will make an appearance to talk about the psychology of your closet. Her bestselling book “I Don’t Have a Thing to Wear: The Psychology of Your Closet” is in its eighth printing and has been translated and released internationally. As an image consultant, she has appeared on many national and local television and radio shows as well as a contributor to magazines across the country.
Masters in the kitchen and wanna-be-cooks will love the WGAR 99.5 Celebrity Cooking Stage. Here’s where you’ll find incredible chefs and cookbook authors. Cleveland’s own Loretta Paganini and Mike Swingos will be cooking as well as demonstrations by Amish Naturals, Stancato’s Ohio Honey Company, Farenheit, Chef to Chef, Brunos, Blue Point Grille, Fat Cats Restaurant, and 2182 Bistro and Wine Bar.
Like to dine out and dress up? You’re in luck. The latest trends, eveningwear, work, or just casual weekend will be on stage. After the runway shows, you can shop for fashions and accessories from hundreds of unique fashion boutiques. And, if the gorgeous models leave you feeling a bit dull or dowdy, there will be cosmetic and skin experts, teeth whitening, diet secrets, and plans for your perfect makeover. On the stage will be fashions from Catan’s Bridal, DressBarn, Steinmart, and Coldwater Creek.
Avon’s traveling beauty destination offers a one-of-a kind, interactive experience designed to help women discover new beauty breakthroughs with Avon. Attendees are invited to reveal a more youthful appearance with ANEW, Avon’s pioneering anti-aging skincare brand, indulge in a complimentary lip makeover, and receive free samples.
Dr. Joy Browne, radio host, clinical psychologist and author, is teaming up with Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and the Go for BP Goal program to inspire women to overcome the challenges of a diagnosis of high blood pressure and reach their blood pressure goal. Dr. Joy will be on-hand at the Cleveland Women’s Show on the Spotlight Stage. The Cleveland Women’s Show is the latest addition to a series of premier Women’s Shows that have been produced by Southern Shows, Inc. for over 25 years.
