Shoppers looking for unusual and unique gifts have a wide variety of venues to choose from during Colony Christmas. In addition to the unique shops in Palmer, the best of Alaskan handcrafted items will be on display at several locations throughout Palmer during the holiday celebration.

The historic Palmer Depot is the location of one of the premier showcases of Alaskan made items at the Craft Fair, Friday, December 13, at 12:00 am. The Depot will be open until 6:00 pm on Friday evening and reopen at 10:00 am on Saturday morning till 6:00pm. An information booth, gift wrapping station, and Colony Christmas souvenirs can also be found at the Depot location on Saturday.

On Saturday, other crafts fairs kick into operation. One of the largest is held at the Borough Gym, located on Dahlia Street -- or across the Quad from the library and Depot. Open from 10:00 am until 6:00, shoppers will find a wide variety of unique gifts for everyone on their shopping lists.

The Colony Christmas arts and crafts events are a great way to support Alaskan artists, your friends and neighbors and find unique and wonderful gifts. Plus, while you're shopping, the rest of the family can visit Santa, make ornaments for the tree, pet reindeer and go on a sleigh ride!
